Planning with and for Children

Planning with and for Children by Dr Claire Warden offers clear guidance on how to make adult interaction, including questioning skills, part of good practice. It incorporates key features of a Floorbook and sets out step-by-step guides to using 3D mapping. Designed to encourage a greater emphasis on inquiry-based thinking/project approach, the book shows how learning tracks can link play and learning inside, outside and beyond in case studies. Ideal for 3 to 7 year-olds, it also supports the use of Talking Tubs to engage all children in child-led planning. Feedback from educators so far says that it brings joy back to the planning and documentation process.

Exploring Fake News

Exploring Fake News by Dale Sutherland is a topical, well-timed resource that puts the spotlight on fake news, misinformation and conspiracy theories. Considering them to be forms of “information” that work against reliable, logical thinking, it sets out the facts and credible theories on big issues in an engaging, relatable way, and equips students with tools they need to analyse all kinds of information for its accuracy and respond accordingly. This resource also provides a real-world context for building key English curriculum skills from research, reading and writing to listening, speaking and presenting.
